OLIVE ELEVATOR THREAD

The elevator is a special bit that has a tubular leather riser or a synthetic cord that passes through the rings of the bit and attaches on one side to the headstall risers and on the other to the reins.

In this way the cord that slides through the rings when the rider pulls on the reins acts by pulling up the bit and also applying pressure behind the horse's neck. The elevator is generally used for strong horses that tend to become heavy and unbalanced forward. The rings, having an olive shape, remain fixed without pinching the horse's mouth.
